Hamilton, NY — – The Faculty Features at Midday concert series at ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ will continue on Thursday, March 1 with a recital by cellist Florent Renard-Payen, accompanied on piano by Kristian Bezuidenhout. The recital, at noon in ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ Memorial Chapel, is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be available. Renard-Payen, ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ’s teacher of cello, is currently completing his doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. His March 1 program will feature pieces from the cello repertoire by Barber and Lutoslawski, and will present two very novel works, Recitative to an absent sky by Gregory Mertl, a brilliant young composer who wrote the piece for Renard-Payen, and the Capriccio of Lukas Foss.
