Students build support for Habitat for Humanity

Building houses out of gingerbread helped generate more than $700 that was donated to the real home-building efforts of the Madison County chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

The fun fundraiser recently was held at the Hall of Presidents and involved members of the campus community and area children involved in the program, according to organizers Jennifer Viera ’13 and Rebecca Griffin ’12.

The university’s Habitat for Humanity , run through the , supports the nonprofit organization through student volunteer work at building sites in Madison County and by raising funds. The ÏãÃÛÓ°ÊÓ chapter also sends teams of students to build at sites across the country during semester breaks.
